ROWAN COUNTY SUMMER PRODUCTION

Still Life with Iris

Written by Steven Dietz

Directed by Octavia Fleck

Join Lexington Children’s Theatre as they journey to a place called Great Island, a remote and magnificent island. On Great Island you can find the best of everything, however only ONE of the best of anything! The rulers of Great Island are the Great Goods: Gretta and Grotto. They are also the rulers of the fantastical land of Nocturno where each night as we lay sleeping, Nocturnos’ inhabitants ready the world for the new day creating the flowers, fog, lightening bolts, thunder, rain, ladybugs and much more. When Gretta and Grotto decide they must have the perfect little girl for their island they put into motion a series of events that forces one little girl, named Iris, to question everything in her life. Will Iris find her way back to her home and mom and dad? Will she discover the meaning behind the “button” and the reoccurring memory that appears whenever she touches the button? Will Nocturno be able continue the sunrise and lassoing the moon each day? Find out these answers and more during the summer production of “Still Life with Iris”.

Elliott’s summer week of rhyming, & creatures & nasties & goo!

Roald Dahl is full of creativity! Using music, art and movement your child will develop their imagination during this week long experience. We will devise our own disgusting rhymes by the end of the week to show to all friends and family!

A Few Important Bits & Pieces

  • Lunch is provided daily for students in sessions that stay all day. (Monday through Friday for Charlie and BFG classes, and Fridays for Revolting Rhymes students.)

  • On Friday (each week) all students (4-7's and 8 and ups) stay through the entire morning and afternoon. This allows us to have a dress rehearsal with all ages as we prepare our sharing for  family and friends on Friday evening at 5:30 PM.

  • A pizza party will be provided for all students just prior to the sharing on Friday.

  • We encourage families and friends to attend the 5:30 PM Friday sharings! Come see what your children have accomplished in a week!
